Enrique Sobejano will be giving a lecture today 12th of February at 7 p.m. in Düsseldorf. This conference is part of the exhibition New Museum Architecture in Spain, which you can visit between the 5th of February and the 7th of March 2014 at Haus der Architekten North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf.

The exhibition is based on the book "New Museums in Spain " by journalist and writer Dr. Klaus Englert, who also curated the exhibition. A sample from a respectful point of view, sometimes with admiration, but also critical of the cultural monuments built since the beginning of the 1980s in Spain until nowadays (and so far until the Spanish economic crisis). The Dutch architect Ben van Berkel, co-founder of UN Studio, with bases in Rotterdam, Hong Kong and Shanghai, will give a lecture at Shigeru Ban’s “IE Paper Pavilion”, in Serrano 99, Madrid, next Monday, February 10th at 19h00.

Van Berkel has been one of the most influential voices in contemporary architecture on the last two decades, which has lead him to take the Kenzo Tange Visiting Professor’s Chair on Harvard Graduate School of Design, imparting also class at Staedelschule on Frankfurt am Main and giving lectures on diverse universities and institutions all over the world.

Un taller de construcción para "The Land" de Rirkrit Tiravanija en Chiang Mai (Tailandia) abre mañana por la noche en el Museo de Arquitectura de Suiza en Basilea (ver más a continuación).

The Land is a self-sustaining environment emerging from an artistic community initiated by Rirkrit Tiravanija and Kamin Lertchaiprasert. Located in the northern part of Thailand, 20 km southwest of the city of Chiang Mai, it is intended to be cultivated as an open space free of ownership, an environment conducive to discussions and experimentation in the fields of culture.
