The contest is opened for artist worldwide without limits of age, sex or experience. They can present works which have been completed in the last 36 months and which do not necessarily have been exhibited before. There are no subject or title required for participanting works and they can have different styles from figurative to abstract, conceptual or performance. The existing categories are the followings ones:
- Painting & Graphics Prize.
- Photography & Digital Graphic Prize.
- Video & Animation Prize.
- Installation, Sculpture & Performance Prize.
- Curator's Choice Prize.
- Public's Choice Prize.
The work can be sent until 31th of July.
The process for selecting the winners has three different steps: at first Ami Barak, curator of the 5th edition Celeste Prize 2013, chooses 120 works among all the artworks submitted. Each curator in the selection panel chooses 20 works. This 40 works will be the finalists of the contest. For selecting the winner, during the finalists' exhibition all 40 artists will vote for the winning works.
