"Once a group of scientists decided to do an experiment and put five monkeys in a cage. In the center put a ladder up a bunch of bananas. When a monkey was about to get to be the bananas, scientists tips to the group of monkeys with cold water. After several iterations of this process, each time a monkey tried to pick up bananas, the other 4 gave him a beating. After this, and after a while, trying to climb a monkey for bananas.
Scientists decided to replace one of the monkeys. The first thing this new monkey was climbing the ladder, being quickly dropped by others, and earning a beating. After several beatings, the new monkey and I did not try to climb the ladder. A second new monkey was introduced, and same thing happened.
The first monkey again participated in the beating of the second monkey again. A third was introduced and again, we repeated the process. The fourth well until, finally, the last of the monkeys 'old' was replaced.
So, finally, in the cage we had a group of five monkeys, but had never received a stream of cold water hitting anyone still daring monkey trying to climb the stairs with the intention to pick bananas. Why then do this? Probably answer, "Because we've always done well"
