French director, photographer and editor Franck Pinel (aka FKY) assembles Thomas Méreur’s memories of landscapes he experienced on a trip to Iceland.
Combining the Erik Satie-esque piano and Sigur Rós-style vocals, the video show us the song Apex of Thomas Méreur’s debut album Dyrhólaey, remembering the name of a small peninsula on the south coast of Iceland.

Thomas siempre ha sentido una conexión con el país a través de la música de artistas como Sigur Rós, Ólafur Arnalds y Björk. Hay dos temas que se mezclan en este álbum: Islandia y perder a alguien, con algunas de las letras que hacen referencia a la naturaleza salvaje islandesa y la extraña y reconfortante soledad que parece provenir de él.
“Quería que Dyrhólaey fuera muy simple, así que se trata básicamente de piano y voz. Mezclar las voces para crear una melodía completamente nueva fue muy emocionante de grabar y genera una gratificante sensación de riqueza.”
