«I Need You» es el segundo single del álbum «We Are» de Jon Batiste, que ha resultado ganador en los Grammy 2022 por Álbum del año. Su nuevo trabajo muestra un sonido fresco, un jazz capaz de transmitir alegria, libertad, y calidez pese a haber sido grabado y compuesto durante la pandemia global de 2020.

Influenciado por sus raíces sureñas y el legado de la música negra, la melodía, y el sonido global de la canción, muestra una base única en la que el cantante es capaz de mostrar su gran potencia vocal con matices de pop moderno y hip-hop.

El artista, conocido por su participación en la banda sonora de la película Soul de Disney, homenajea en este vídeoclip los bailes de swing de la época del Harlem de las décadas que van 1920 a 1940, y hace referencia a personajes tan icónicos como James Brown o Little Richard.

Jon Batiste toma el papel de protagonista en el vídeo musical, un visitante de una galería de arte, que observa una exposición de fotografía que parece convertirse en una ventana a otros tiempos. Al otro lado de una fotografía, una orquesta, y sus bailarines, comienza a tomar vida traspasando el plano de la realidad.
