Here in the Pitch. The Last Year por Jessica Pratt

Jessica Pratt es una artista folk reconocible por sus letras elípticas, su guitarra y su voz. «Here in the Pitch» supone el lanzamiento físico de su cuarto álbum, en la que incluye una cita de de Leonard Cohen, extraída de una entrevista de Crawdaddy de 1975 que explica la forma de componer de Pratt : «El caso es que tienes ganas de cantar, y esta es la canción que conoces».

Un conjunto de nueve piezas que nos permiten deleitarnos con su música durante una media hora. Como novedad en sus nuevas canciones incluye algunos toques ligeros de batería y sintetizadores, algunas líneas de bajo y bongos de fondo, acompañamientos que no hacen perder la cercania de su música.

Son absolutamente recomendables todos los temas de este album, en los que Pratt canta utilizando más versos que estribillos, mostrando su voz aterciopelada que te atrapa y que invade el espacio en el que la escuchas, haciendo que el tiempo se pare por unos minutos. Entre los nueve temás destacamos «The Last Year», un trabajo sobre el tiempo en bucle y la cotidianeidad, la de esas cosas que encuentras simplemente mirando tus bolsillos.

Por cierto, el contexto urbano y la fotografía del vídeo me han recordado el brillante trabajo de un buen amigo y excelente fotógrafo Reto Halme.
