SMAQ: Sabine Müller/Andreas Quednau: are a Berlin-based collaborative studio for architecture, urbanism, and research that focuses on urban design and architecture as a (re)active practice of “making something which cannot perform without the assistance of its environment.” SMAQ has received, among other awards, the prestigious AR Award and the Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction. Sabine Müller is assistant professor of Architecture and Urban Design at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. Andreas Quednau is professor of Architecture and Urban Design at Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, Germany.
