Se ha hecho pública la resolución del primero de los 4 concursos de Think Space. La iniciativa comisariada por la directora de Storefront Gallery Eva Franch i Gilabert, ha planteado desarrollar los concursos trabajando sobre el concepto de “fronteras”.

Para este primer concurso “Urban bordes” el jurado y redactor de las bases ha sido Shohei Shigematsu socio de OMA. Los ganadores han sido Jesse Foster Honsa y Gregory John Mahoney de Suiza y EEUU respectivamente, el segundo premio lo han conseguido los griegos Kyriakos Kyriakou y Sofia Krimizi, y el tercer premio el jurado ha seleccionado a los españoles Javier Jimenez Iniesta y David Jimenez Iniesta.

Central peripheries and peripheral centralities are existing conditions within contemporary understandings of the city. New systems of mobility, communication and capital management have produced a multiplicity of states of centrality and isolation in social and spatial terms beyond nineteenth century ideas of center and periphery or production-work-leisure-living. Urban Borders asks for submissions that are able to bring together different notions of centrality and periphery into play and problematize existing living conditions within urban scenarios.
