ACTO. Founded in 2020 by internationally trained architects Cristina Marcos and María Figueras. ACTO was born in Barcelona as a practice that explores architecture beyond the built environment. Their approach combines the materiality of space with related disciplines from the creative and humanistic fields, such as publishing, curating, exhibition design, illustration, and academic research.
Their first built project, Casa Colorada in La Mesa, Colombia, was awarded the 2025 AJAC First Prize in the new construction category, a recognition granted by the Association of Young Architects of Catalonia for its architectural sensitivity and respectful dialogue with the surrounding environment.
