associer
associer is an architecture practice founded as atelierphilippemadec in 1990, became an associate of (apm) in 2022, and is now known as "associer." The associate members are: Catherine Gobillot, architect and general manager; Olivier Hélary, architect-engineer and general manager; Philippe Madec, architect-designer and president; and Antoine Petitjean, architect-designer and general manager.
The term "associer" refers to the studio's way of working: connecting climate, territories, and ecologies. Based in Paris, Rennes, and Montpellier, "associer" works at all scales of human settlement planning in all metropolitan, urban, suburban, rurban, and rural conditions, both in France and abroad.
Long committed to an eco-responsible approach in its activities, the workshop focuses on interdisciplinary approaches based on the interdependence between the cultural, social, economic, technical, and environmental spheres of sustainable development.
The pursuit of territorial equity, the design of eco-neighborhoods and eco-cities, developments and constructions that respect the environment and citizen voice, the construction of buildings that meet high environmental quality criteria, and the systematic pursuit of energy efficiency all contribute to the creation of human settlements that care for their inhabitants.
Its approach has earned it numerous national and international awards, both past and present.
