Atrium Architekti is an architecture practice based in Košice, Slovakia, founded in 1991 by Dušan Burák, Martin Koniar and Ján Sekan. In 2003, the practice was restructured and relaunched with Michal Burák (1974), Dušan Burák, Marek Bakalár, and Ladislav Baran, with the aim of integrating architecture, urban planning, design, and fine arts into a single space. Their work seeks the essence of humanity and its relationship with the environment, nature, and oneself. They strive for formal and spatial purity, simplicity in solutions, an organic connection with the outdoors, the use of natural materials, and a path toward energy self-sufficiency. Each architectural project represents a challenge to discover something new.
