Bohigas

Josep Bohigas. (Barcelona, ​​1967) has been an architect since 1996. During his studies, he collaborated with the firms of Josep Maria Rovira, Tomàs Morató, Miquel Adrià, MBM, and Enric Miralles. He received a scholarship from La Caixa to pursue a one-year master's degree in the United States in 1994 and earned the AAD master's degree from Columbia University in New York in 1995.

He co-founded the BOPBAA studio (1990), with which he designed works such as the extension of the Thyssen Museum in Madrid, social housing in the Forum area, the El Molino Theater, and the museography of the Barcelona Maritime Museum, among others. In 2016, he stepped down as co-director of BOPBAA to take over as director of the strategic planning agency Barcelona Regional.

He has been a professor at Pompeu Fabra University (Elisava) and the Mies Chair, and since 2008 has been an Associate Professor of Projects at ETSAB. He has curated cultural housing projects such as Barraca-Barcelona (2003), APTM (2005), Arquitectos de Cabecera (2014), and Piso Piloto (2015), and directed the Taller Flotante at the Naumón in 2004. He has been associated with various institutions: he was a member of the Board of Directors of the FAD (2001–2005), the NGO Design for the World (2007), and the scientific and organizing committee of the EME3 architecture festival, most notably his participation in the Collapse edition (2008). He is currently a trustee of the EINA Foundation and the Signes Foundation.

His work has been recognized with three FAD awards (1998, 2000, 2007) —including the FAD for ephemeral spaces—, a FAD opinion award (2009) and three City of Barcelona awards, including the Design award in 2007.
