Bordoy
Ernest Bordoy is an architectural studio from Mallorca focused on environmentally responsible architecture, socially committed and concerned with the physical and mental well-being of users.
Ernest Bordoy was born in 1991 in Palma. He graduated as an architect from the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) in 2016, basing his final year project on a proposal for the renovation of the old cooperative winery in Felanitx.
He has collaborated with several offices in Barcelona and Mallorca: Bopbaa (2013), Aulets (2014-2018) and has participated in the drafting and construction management of projects such as the renovation of the Oenological Station (2017) or the Mn. Pere Xamena Fiol Municipal Archive (2017), both in Felanitx. He has won the second Art Jove prize for architecture from the Government of the Balearic Islands in the project category thanks to the detached house “can Catalina” (2023). The same work has been a finalist for the Arquia Próxima 2024 award. It has also received an honourable mention in the Medellin ARCHmedium social housing competition (2014) as well as several awards in collaboration with Aulets, such as the “THE PETER DAVEY SPECIAL PRIZE” from the “Architectural Review Emerging Architecture”.
He has carried out architectural works both for the renovation and new construction of single-family homes, also participating in the construction management of two lBAVI projects (19 homes in Palma 2020, 6 homes in Santa Eugènia 2021). He has also carried out urban planning projects, such as the redevelopment project for the streets of Sitjar and Bastera in Felanitx. In terms of architecture and heritage, he is part of the team drafting the Master Plan for the renovation of the Convent of San Agustín in Felanitx.
