Ana Coello Paisatge i Arquitectura, ACPA is an architecture and landscape practice founded in Barcelona in 2007 by Ana Coello (Girona, Spain, 1973). Coello graduated in Architecture from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 1999 and received a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2005. Before establishing her own practice, she worked with international firms including Agence Ter in Paris, Martha Schwartz & Partners in Boston, and Peter Walker & Partners in San Francisco.
The studio works across landscape architecture, urbanism and architecture, addressing scales that range from territorial planning to public space and garden design. Its practice responds to the specific ecological, social and cultural conditions of each place, understanding landscape as a system in which vegetation, water, soil, uses and natural processes form part of a single design structure.
Among its most notable projects are Parc de les Glòries–Canòpia Urbana in Barcelona, developed in collaboration with Agence Ter and Meta Engineering; the Eixos Verds i Places of Superilla Barcelona; the Mavoko Sustainable Neighbourhood Project for UN-Habitat in Kenya; and a range of landscape and public space projects in Spain, Portugal and China.
The studio’s work has received several distinctions. The Eixos Verds i Places de l’Eixample received the Manuel de Solà-Morales Catalonia Urban Planning Award in 2023, while the transformation of Plaça de les Glòries received the 2025 Ciutat de Barcelona Award for Architecture and Urbanism and the 2026 FAD Award in the City and Landscape category.
