Díaz González
Miguel Ángel Díaz González was born in Bilbao in 1985 and has been an architect from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM) since 2011. In 2020, he completed a Master's degree in Architectural Theory and Design at the University of Navarra.
He was awarded an EU exchange program scholarship to study at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Innsbruck in 2006/07, where he participated in projects with various studios and competitions. He received an honourable mention in the "International Competition Krakow, The River within the City" and first prize in the "National Competition Loop_190" in Hohenems, Austria, in collaboration with Isabel Muñoz-Rojas Morenes.
He was selected to participate in the Vastu Shilpa Foundation's International Workshops in Ahmedabad, India, under the guidance of Balkrishna Doshi in 2008, to develop a cooperation and development project for the slums of Ahmedabad.
Following his experience with the Vastu Shilpa Foundation, he contributed to the publication of a book summarizing the projects developed, including a collection of interviews and articles, Habita India – Inhabitat India, as part of the Garam Masala Association. In 2010, he collaborated with Carlos Ramos Tenorio, Felipe Suárez Ballesteros, and Ursicino Endaman Nde Mangue in the “National Plasterboard Competition,” winning first prize. Upon completing his studies in 2011, he was awarded a scholarship through the “15 Internships in 15 European Studios” program, joining the architecture firm BOLLES+WILSON in Münster, Germany.
In 2015, he started her own architecture studio. In 2021, he won the competition for the renovation and expansion of the Grañén Cultural Center in Huesca. In 2023, he won the Europan 17 competition in Eibar. In 2024, he won first prize in the competition for the old Logroño bus station.
