DRNH
Studio DRNH is an architecture practice founded in 1991 in Brno by architects Antonín Novák and Petr Valenta. The current core team also includes Radovan Smejkal and Eduard Štěrbák. From the beginning, the studio has positioned itself as an architectural office that connects architecture with nature and landscape, emphasizing sustainability, ecological principles, and a sensitive approach to both site and heritage.
Their work encompasses a wide spectrum of projects – from cultural, sports, and educational buildings to residential developments and landscape architecture. A central aspect of their practice is the pursuit of balance between aesthetics, functionality, and respect for the environment.
Among their most notable projects are the Kraví Hora Swimming Complex, the Reduta Theatre renovation in Brno, the Litomyšl Swimming Pool, the National Garden Culture Centre in Kroměříž, and the Render Bridge in Olomouc. DRNH has received numerous awards for their work, including the Grand Prix of Architects, Building of the Year, nominations for the Club for Old Prague Award, repeated recognition in the Czech Architecture Awards, and international nominations for the Mies van der Rohe Award. Their buildings are acclaimed for the harmonious integration of architecture with the landscape, their strong aesthetic presence, and long-term sustainability.
