FAU ARQUITECTOS
FAU Arquitectos is an architectural firm led by Patricia Higuera and José Luis Jiménez, founded in Seville in 1992. Throughout their professional practice, the following have collaborated on the firm's work: Antonio Alonso, Jesús León, Rafa Blasco, Sergio Estévez, César del Pino, María Aguilar, Juanfran Garrido, Jacobo Berges and Raquel Castro, Coque Orozco, Charo Pérez, Eva Castro, Jesús Marín, Eva Méndez, Loli Infante, Curro Cueto, César Estévez, and Ramón Palma.
José Luis Jiménez graduated in Architecture from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Seville in 1992 and earned his doctorate twenty-five years later. He was an Associate Professor in the Department of Architectural Design at the ETSA (Students' Higher Technical School of Architecture) in Seville (1999-2006). As coordinator of the first year of Architectural Projects, he participated in the implementation of the then-new Curriculum at the ETSA (School of Architecture) in Seville and developed the first syllabi for the new subjects created for this Plan (Projects I and Fundamentals of Housing), of which he also taught during this period.
Patricia Higuera graduated in 1996.
Both have been gallery owners, curators, and editors of art exhibitions and catalogs (2004-2010).
From 1992 to 2021, they have worked independently, developing various housing and industrial building projects, which have earned them professional recognition.
They have devoted themselves to research (2012-2018), directing and coordinating various multidisciplinary projects, primarily with EDDEA (Development of Affordable Housing in Moscow, with the conceptual design and application of a modular system for the construction of low-cost residential neighborhoods) and RFPVS (Redefinition of the historic Seville Housing Trust, with over 100 years of activity, in the opening to new social activities).
Together with Javier Conte, Francisco Salinas Gonzávez, and Eduardo González Gallarza, they founded the Abántum Group (1994-2012), responsible for the development and implementation of the Integrated Management System for Construction. The system encompasses the architectural, real estate, construction, and commercial processes, as well as the selection, training, and management of the teams that have applied the model in several industrial projects. From 1992 to 2008, eighteen comprehensive real estate development projects were successfully completed, overseeing the entire spectrum of services involved in the real estate process (architecture, development, construction, management, advertising, marketing, interior design, and auxiliary furniture).
