Practice on Earth is an architecture studio based in Suzhou, China. It was founded in 2023 by Haotian Wu and Cloe Yun Wang, both of whom hold Master of Architecture degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The studio develops a design agenda that connects cultural locality with technological experimentation.
The studio was named Emerging Designer of the Year (Wallpaper* China Design Awards 2025) and Installation Design of the Year at the Dezeen Awards 2025. Working at different scales, from culturally based urban renewal to small, site-specific installations, they address the complexity of contemporary practice, approaching architecture as a collaborative exploration involving diverse actors and disciplines. They believe that design should resist rigid paradigms, exploring countless possibilities before arriving at a precise realization.
