Puertas Arquitectos
Emilio Puertas Arquitectos, SL is formed by a 5 architects team, led by Emilio Puertas, as well as designers, engineers and drafters, based in Bilbao and with more than 30 years of experience offering technical services of Architecture and Urbanism.
Emilio Puertas has been an architect since 1977 by the Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona. After finishing his studies, he works for one year between Paris and Abidjan (Ivory Coast), hired by the Government of this country, participating in the drafting of some projects, such as the new University of Bouaké. Later, he began a tour through several universities as professor of different subjects in the corresponding Schools of Architecture. After returning to Bilbao, from 1983 he established his architectural studies, continuing his teaching at the School of Architecture of San Sebastián, also a member of the University of the UPV / EHU, and professor at the Basque School of Territorial and Urban Studies Of the IVAP (Basque Government).
For five years (1987-1992) he was part of the architectural team responsible for the remodeling of Basurto Hospital, in particular the drafting and direction of the Emergency Pavilion (Makua Pavilion).
Between 2000 and 2008 he was part of the management of Tecnei's architectural services company, re-establishing in 2008 his independent studio Emilio Puertas Arquitectos S.L. Along with its current partners Architects Jorge Moreno and Jon Lekube.
Teaching experience
