Roversi

Paolo Roversi, born on September 25, 1947, in Ravenna, Italy, developed an early interest in photography. He began as a contributor to the Associated Press in 1970, covering Ezra Pound's funeral in Venice. That same year, he and his partner Giancarlo Gramantieri opened their first photography studio in Ravenna, the artist's hometown. After meeting Peter Knapp at an event, he was invited to Paris, where he worked as a reporter for the Huppert Agency, thus becoming involved in fashion photography.

It wasn't until his work with Marie Claire that his first major fashion story was published. A Christian Dior beauty campaign brought him wider recognition in 1980, the year he began using the 8 x 10” Polaroid format that would become his trademark. Through his curiosity, vision, and passion for photography, Paolo has become a global inspiration for photographers and the fashion world.

He regularly collaborates with American Vogue, Vogue Italia, W, Vanity Fair, Interview, and i-D. He has also photographed advertising campaigns for Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Dior, Cerruti, Giada, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, and Alberta Ferretti.
