StudioMAAC
StudioMAAC is an architecture practice founded by Alain Cottrell in 1986, based in Paris and Madrid, dedicated to the execution of large-scale international projects. It brings together three studios: GroupIAD, CMA, and Architectes CVZ. The team addresses the full spectrum of urban development programs, from office buildings and housing to shopping centers, hotels, airport terminals, university campuses, and sports facilities.
Between Madrid and Paris, StudioMAAC operates through two interconnected platforms that constantly interact. This cross-functional organization generates a shared knowledge base and efficient production workflows, providing the firm with high responsiveness and comprehensive control over projects of any scale.
StudioMAAC's methodology combines hand sketching and BIM technology from the earliest stages. Drawing becomes a tool for dialogue and precision, while BIM ensures coordination, technical rigor, and complete project oversight. This approach fosters personalized collaboration and context-sensitive architecture.
StudioMAAC's projects are defined by a continuous dialogue between construction and the environment. Rooted in a rational architectural tradition, the studio develops innovative and responsible solutions that integrate environmental challenges with user comfort. This commitment to excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the FUTURE MIPIM Awards, the MIPIM Awards, the BIM d'OR, the Geste d'Or, and the International Architecture Awards.
