TEN Studio

TEN is an architecture studio based in Zurich and Belgrade, founded in 2018 by members of the TEN association. Its work is based on the premise that value is the result of design effort, and it is oriented toward conceiving, exploring, and producing ideas that affirm and expand emerging practices in the built environment. Its approach includes buildings, urban proposals, algorithmic design, material research, and prototypes, in collaboration with institutional partners and private clients.

TEN operates like a record label, forming interdependent work constellations tailored to each project, with a focus on design as a research-driven approach. Its public engagement and commitment to the project of the environment are guided by a shared statute and an open, collaborative methodology. Though rooted in Europe, TEN works without borders.

Currently, the studio is developing sustainable, affordable, and adaptive building models focused on capable structures, reuse, and cohabitation across different time horizons. It has been awarded the Swiss Art Award (2018) and the Foundation Award (2020), and its members have been recognized in both Swiss and international design competitions, as well as published across digital platforms, magazines, and academic journals.

Recently, TEN has been nominated for the Royal Academy Dorfman Prize 2024, the Lisbon Triennale Début Award 2025, the Mies van der Rohe Award 2022 for its Avala House prototype, and the World Bank Resilient Housing Award for its reconstruction model for the Thame Valley in Nepal.
