Tobías Pintre
Basilio Tobías Pintre (Zaragoza, 1954) is an architect, having graduated from the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) in 1977. He taught design at ETSAB from 1978 to 1982 and at the School of Architecture of the International University of Catalonia (UIC) from 2000 to 2004. He supervised final degree projects at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra from 2005 to 2010. He is currently a professor of urban planning and land management at the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Zaragoza.
He has completed projects such as the University Sports Pavilion in Zaragoza, the Economics Library, the University School of Business Studies, and Buildings A and B of the Polytechnic Campus of the University of Zaragoza; the Hotel Ciudad de Zaragoza; the Sports Pavilion of the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón; the Fleta Theater in Zaragoza (renovation and expansion); the headquarters buildings of the Department of Health of the Government of Aragon; the office building for the Expo 2008 Society; the 30-story tower with approximately 285 apartments next to the Delicias Station in Zaragoza; the 112-unit apartment building for Expo 2008; the headquarters building of the Canfranc Underground Laboratory Consortium; and Building K on the Besòs Campus in Barcelona.
He has given lectures at various professional associations and schools of architecture. He has won the "García Mercadal" and "Ricardo Magdalena" architecture prizes on several occasions (for works such as the Sports Pavilion, the Economics Library, and the Business School). His work has been selected for various editions of the Spanish Architecture Biennial and for the Spanish Pavilion at the 9th Venice Biennale (where the Economics Library and the Castellón Pavilion were presented).
