Only one question, in our opinion the prize is ridiculous and few interesting. In general this kind of design, by a profesional company, are very expensive. The proposed:
Depending on the author’s profile, there will be the possibility to attend an academic workshop in architecture and design universities or academic institutions such as the IAAC (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia) or the Institut für Architektur Berlin, or to attend master classes which will allow a closer knowledge of today’s best professionals.
We do not understand how it is that the Mies van der Rohe Foundation accepts this kind of collaborations, when the work by young architects, engineers or designers could be better valued.
The competition is open to students of architecture, engineering, design and art from all over Europe that are asked to apply their creative talents in the development of proposals to customize an Airbus A320.
Five finalists will be chosen and the winner's proposal, among the finalists, will be used to customize a Vueling airplane that will be connecting European cities from June to December 2013. The airplane will be presented at Barcelona-El Prat Airport on May 30th 2013 with the participation of the Winner, the Finalist, the President of the Jury, the Director of Fundació Mies van der Rohe and the CMO of Vueling.
In the files and link on below you will find the competition guidelines and the toolkit of the airplane in order to present three documents that must explain the proposals. From 29th March untill 10th April 2013, the entry form will be available in the "Register" section to participate in the Linking Europe Competition.
