Torres Nadal
José María Torres Nadal (Cieza, Murcia, 1947) is an architect, graduated from the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) in 1973, and holds a PhD from the same institution with the thesis “Le Corbusier, by myself”. He began his academic career in 1988 as a Professor of Projects at ETSAB and, since 1999, has been teaching at the School of Architecture of Alicante, where he has been a full professor since 1998.
In 2002, he took on the direction of the Master's program Complex Architecture / Complex Technologies at the university, creating a space for research and innovation focused on contemporary transformations in architectural design. He has been a visiting professor at prestigious architecture schools in America and Europe, including Tucson, Columbia, San Juan de Puerto Rico, MIT, Cartagena de Indias, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Venice, London, and Paris, contributing to an international exchange of ideas on architecture, city, and landscape.
He has been invited to participate in international competitions such as the Headquarters Building Offices CAF in Caracas and the Arena Sports for Handicapped People in Hortaleza, Madrid (2012). As director of the ArquiLecturas collection (Murcia, since 1985), he has also served as a juror and critical member in numerous competitions, including the prestigious Rey Juan Carlos I Award for Landscape, Urbanism, and Sustainability (XX edition).
