BLOCO Arquitetos is an architecture practice that was founded in Brasilia by Daniel Mangabeira (UnB, 1999), Henrique Coutinho (UnB, 1997), and Matheus Seco (UnB, 1999) in 2000. The three partners lead a team of architects with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and interests. The studio has extensive experience in delivering projects across different scales and programs, ranging from houses and buildings to interiors and temporary installations.

BLOCO’s projects are directly shaped by specific conditions, which may range from a site’s topography and solar orientation to available budgets and local labor. The studio’s work is strongly influenced by Brazilian modern architecture, particularly the architecture of Brasília, where the practice is based. BLOCO’s architects see their work as a continuation of the building tradition that marked the early years of the capital.

BLOCO Arquitetos is one of the founding practices of Atelier Piloto. The collective aims to foster interaction between students, professionals, and schools through lectures and design workshops that encourage collaborative work toward a common goal: reflecting on architecture and thinking about the city. BLOCO’s partners are also members of Plano Coletivo, the group responsible for curating the Brazilian Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.
