Brix
Michal Brix (Prague, Czech Republic, 2.12.1946) is an architect and artist. He studied architecture at UMPRUM in Prague from 1966 to 1972. From 1974 to 1979, he worked at Stavoprojekt Liberec, atelier 02. From 1980 to 1991, he focused on graphic design and worked as a freelance architect. In 1990, he completed an internship in Australia.
He has received numerous awards for his work: the Italian Man Size Prize (1974), the first prize in the competition for the completion of Prague-Ruzyně Airport (1994), the Prize of the Engineering Academy of the Czech Republic for Prague International Airport (2000), the Prize of the Mayor of Prague for an exceptionally high quality architectural work, Prague International Airport, realized in the period 1989–1999. He is not only an award-winning architect, but also an artist and an illustrator.
