Founded in 1999 by Fernando Forte, Lourenço Gimenes, and Rodrigo Marcondes Ferraz, FGMF was established in São Paulo, Brazil with the ambition of creating authorial architecture within the framework of a professionally structured practice. From the outset, the office has been committed to producing contemporary, investigative, and innovative architecture across every scale and program, from furniture design to mixed-use buildings and urban masterplans. This versatility and flexibility have become defining characteristics of the practice, whose portfolio now comprises more than 500 projects.
Over the past 25 years, the three partners have received more than 270 major national and international awards. Among these are the Architizer A+ Award for Architecture Firm of the Year in Central and South America, as well as three Italian Dedalo Minosse Awards and three Prix Versailles Awards, one of them recognizing the Japan House building on São Paulo's Paulista Avenue. In addition to its design practice, the office plays an active role in the education of future architects through lectures and workshops at universities and national and international events.
