Marisa Gallén, (Valencia, 1958) is a pioneer and a reference in Spanish graphic design, since its inception in the La Nave collective in the 1980s. Since then, her works are essential to understand the evolution of graphic communication in the Valencian cultural industry.
The Dansa València festival, the Teatre Micalet, the Ensems music festival of the Institut Valencià de Cultura, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), the Museu Valencià de la Il.lustració i la Modernitat, Grup Instrumental de València and the institutional campaigns of the Generalitat Valenciana, among many other examples, have been nurtured by the design of Marisa Gallén.
Her professional activity has been diverse and multiple, with works focused on corporate image, editorial design, packaging, art direction and web design, with additional forays into industrial and textile design.
In addition to the 2019 National Design Award, her career has been awarded with the San Carlos de València Medal of Fine Arts, the Mestres recognition, the FAD chain and the Special Jury Prize of the magazine Economy 3 for the XXV Anniversary from the La Nave collective.
