Point and Marisa Gallén are two of the drivers of the Valencia Capital Design World 2022 project.
These awards are the highest recognition to the design of Spain and granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
In its argument, the jury has recognized the “broad, global and innovative trajectory” of Marisa Gallén. In addition, they highlighted “the coherence of her professional career, from the foundation of La Nave, which was a revolution in the world of design, to his current work, very influential in the company's strategy, demonstrating a great projective capacity. Strongly committed to sustainability since her inception, it highlights her ability to imbricate design and art in her projects. her associative activity and her cultural implication, transmitting to society the values of design, are a referent of commitment”.
Marisa Gallén, who was part of the mythical collective La Nave in the 80s, has contributed her work to design innovation and has left her graphic mark on all kinds of Valencian cultural initiatives, institutions and industries. Museums, publishers, music festivals, books, design exhibitions and cultural projects of all kinds. She has worked as a teacher and mentor for generations of designers and currently directs the Gallén + Ibáñez studio together with the designer Carmina Ibáñez, who develops identity and packaging projects, among other aspects of design.
On Point, he pointed out that he stands out for “its continuous and sustainable upward development, with a business strategy oriented towards internationalization, which has contributed to disseminating and consolidating the design ecosystem and giving it visibility. Point, which celebrates its centenary next year, is a benchmark in the manufacture and design of outdoor furniture throughout the world whose pieces combine the know-how of the brand and the signature of designers such as Mario Ruiz, Vicent Martínez and Francesc Rifé, among others.
