Rodrigo Oliveira is a Brazilian landscape architect and agronomist based in São Paulo. He grew up in Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, where he developed a close connection with plants and tending to the family gardens from a young age. He studied Agronomic Engineering at the Federal University of Viçosa from 1988 to 1993. He later expanded his training in Florida, USA, with studies in arboriculture, acquiring specialized knowledge of tree cultivation, growth, and management. Before founding his own studio, he worked with other landscape architects, accumulating experience that would ultimately define a design approach deeply rooted in a direct understanding of vegetation.
Since the early 2000s, he has directed Rodrigo Oliveira Paisagismo, a studio based in São Paulo. His career took a significant leap forward when Isay Weinfeld commissioned him in 2005 to design the garden for a residence belonging to filmmaker Héctor Babenco. He has since collaborated with studios such as Studio MK27, Bernardes Arquitetura, Studio Arthur Casas, and Felipe Hess. His work primarily encompasses gardens for residential complexes, apartment buildings, and commercial projects, and he has developed collaborations with some of Brazil's most prominent architects.
