Retuerto arquitectos
Retuerto Arquitectos is an architecture studio founded in 2003 by Felipe Retuerto, based in Seville, Spain. The firm specializes in rehabilitation, public works, and new construction for private developers. Their work encompasses projects of varying scale and nature, with constant attention to the structural, heritage, and urban conditions of each intervention.
Felipe Retuerto holds a Master's degree in Building Assessment and Rehabilitation from FIDAS and has extensive experience in the diagnosis and restoration of existing buildings. Throughout his career, he has worked on more than 500 homes and residential communities, developing projects aimed at improving the habitability, safety, accessibility, and conservation of buildings.
This line of work also extends to the rehabilitation of architectural heritage. Notable projects include the San Luis Fort, located on Trocadero Island in Puerto Real, and the rehabilitation and restoration project of the Church of San Laureano in Seville. In both cases, the approach begins with recognizing the existing historical and material values in order to define strategies compatible with their conservation and contemporary use.
Their work in the public sector has largely developed from first prizes won in architectural competitions. These commissions have allowed them to work on diverse programs, including educational centers, administrative buildings, police stations, sports facilities, community centers, and urban spaces.
The diversity of scales, typologies, and contexts has shaped a practice based on technical rigor, a precise understanding of the site, and the search for specific solutions capable of reconciling functionality, constructability, and architectural quality.
