Samir Alaoui is an architect based in Lausanne, from where he develops projects between Switzerland and Morocco. He graduated from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2005, subsequently working with practices in Spain, the United Kingdom and Switzerland before founding his own studio in 2017. His projects have been recognised with the Best Architects 23 Award, the Best Architects 26 Award and the Swiss Arc Award 2025.
He also conducts research on the Moroccan urban context together with Lahbib el Moumni and MAMMA (Mémoire des Architectes Modernes Marocain) using photography as a means of exploring the sensory and spatial dimensions of urban territory.
