Transborder

Transborder Studio is an Oslo-based architecture practice. The office engages in a wide array of projects, scales, formats and collaborations.

Øystein Rø. Partner. M.Arch.MNAL with education from NTNU in Trondheim and TU in Berlin. Worked for Nils Henrik Eggen, Reiulf Ramstad and Pir II. Co-founder of art and architecture gallery 0047, first in Berlin (2004), then in Oslo (2007). Secretary of Europan Norway since 2007. Has been teaching at both NTNU and AHO in Oslo, where he has also been guest critic. Recipient of Norsk Form’s prize to young architects in 2011 and Oslo Architect’s Association’s Architecture Prize in 2014.

Espen Røyseland. Partner. M.Arch. MNAL. Co-founder of art and architecture gallery 0047, first in Berlin (2004), then in Oslo (2007). Educated at NTNU in Trondheim and TU in Berlin. Worked for L.O.F. arkitekter and Kielland Viksjø arkitekter before starting his own architecture practice in 2006. Employed by 0047 since 2007. Secretary of Europan Norway since 2007. Has been teaching at the The Oslo School of Architecture and Design. Recipient of Norsk Form’s prize to young architects in 2011 and Oslo Architect’s Association’s Architecture Prize in 2014.

Håvard Skarstein. Partner Siv.Ark.MNAL. Håvard Skarstein has his main experience from Pir II in Trondheim and Oslo, as employee from 2005, and as manager of Pir II Oslo from 2008 until 2013. His competance ranges from complex zoning plans and initial stage area analysis, to detailed interdisciplinary engineering, hereunder a significant experience on sustainability, passive house thematics and strategies towards zero emission building. Håvard has been leading architect of projects like Rockheim in Trondheim and the national institute of Meteorology in Oslo.
