Vincent Lavergne Architecture Urbanisme

With offices in Paris, Marseille, and Barcelona, Vincent Lavergne Architecture Urbanisme (VL-AU) is a studio founded by Vincent Lavergne in 2017. Its practice focuses on the processes of city formation and, in particular, on the systems of interdependence between the center and the periphery.

Firmly committed to adapting the existing city, the studio bases its approach on the idea that diversity—programmatic, structural, and social—creates a resilient and inclusive city where ecology and social progress form a unique dynamic.

VLAU’s identity is grounded in dual expertise: urban planning—aiming to build the city upon itself—and low-carbon construction using geological materials, thereby realizing ecological and urban dynamics at the architectural scale.

As the studio’s founding partner, Vincent Lavergne is an architect and urban planner who graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette. He was a winner of the Albums des Jeunes Architectes and the Palmarès des Jeunes Urbanistes in 2012. He has led numerous projects in France and abroad, bridging the fields of architecture and urban planning.

Alongside his professional practice, he engages in theoretical research and teaching, as well as curating exhibitions and publications, and frequently lectures around the world.

He has also served on the editorial board of Tous Urbains—an urban planning journal directed by Philippe Panerai and Olivier Mongin (Presses Universitaires de France)—and is part of the international network of the Instituts Français.
