Donaire Milans Arquitectos is an architectural firm founded in Madrid in 2020 by Jesús Donaire and María Milans del Bosch. Their professional development has garnered prestigious awards, publications, and international recognition. They currently develop public works projects, residential projects, both new construction and renovations, and curatorial and museography projects at the institutional level in Spain, the United States, France, and Italy.
In parallel, they carry out extensive teaching work at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM), the Polytechnic University of Milan (POLIMI), the Master's Degree in Interior Design and Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (MDAI), and the University of Pamplona.
Jesús Donaire, PhD in Architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York (GSAPP), has developed his research work thanks to Fulbright scholarships, William Kinne scholarships from Columbia, the Social Council of the UPM, and the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. He has been a Professor of Project Management at ETSAM since 2009 and Visiting Professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan since 2016. He is the author of numerous texts, editor of the architectural culture blog BMIAA, and Secretary of the BigMat International Architecture Prize. He has collaborated extensively with David Chipperfield in London and with Jesús Aparicio and Alberto Campo Baeza in Madrid.
María Milans del Bosch, an architect from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York (GSAPP), founded Maria Milans Studio in 2012, an internationally published and award-winning architectural practice based in New York City. She has earned, among other distinctions, an Honorable Mention at the 2018 Luis M. Mansilla Awards for her project Studio House in the Catskills. In 2008, she joined Matthew Baird Architects, where her work as an Associate Architect of the firm has been widely published, awarded by the American Association of Architects (AIA), and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale, among others.
