Fernández-Llebrez Muñoz

José Fernández-Llebrez Muñoz (Valencia, 1979) is an architect (2005) and holds a PhD in Architecture (2013) from the School of Architecture of the Universitat Politècnica de València (ETSA-UPV). He graduated with highest honours, and his doctoral dissertation, The Human Dimension in the Work of Aldo van Eyck: Writings and Architecture, supervised by Eduardo de Miguel, was awarded cum laude distinction and an International Doctorate Mention.

He has been a visiting professor at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA), a long-term guest researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and a lecturer at the School of Architecture and Polytechnic School of Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV). He is currently a Permanent Lecturer in the Department of Architectural Design at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). He has contributed to publications and conferences on educational innovation and was selected in the Teaching Projects section of the 12th Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BIAU XII).

Professional practice of architecture. Distinctions in various competitions and recognitions for built work, including the Habitat Award at the 2026 Architecture Awards of the Higher Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain (CSCAE), 1st prize of the 7th Baku International Architecture Award coordinated by the International Union of Architects, 1st prize of the 19th edition of the NAN Awards for Spanish architecture, selected for the Recent Architecture Exhibition 2023-25-25 of the CTAV and award for best new residential project, finalist in the 2026 FAD Awards, finalist in the 8th edition of the Architecture Plus Award of Spain, and finalist in the Architecture Awards (2017 and 2018) of the COACV.

His research has been published in architectural journals indexed in leading international quality databases, including The Architectural Review, DOCOMOMO International, Disegnare, Idee, Immagini (Sapienza University of Rome), Nexus Network Journal, EGA, Cuaderno de Notas, and ZARCH. He serves as reviewer and scientific advisor for several specialist journals. He is the author of Mestres: Modern Architecture in the Valencian Community, published in Spanish and English by Fundación Arquia (2021) and shortlisted for the Architecture Awards of the Higher Council of Spanish Colleges of Architects (CSCAE). He has supervised doctoral dissertations and has served as Principal Investigator on competitive research projects (2018/UEM27, GV/2019/073, 2020/UEM18).
