María Díaz (Bilbao, 1972) founder of MDBA, with a professional career of more than 15 years, leads a young team that integrates architects, designers and professionals from different disciplines. From MDBA, she works to develop projects of various scales that promote self-sufficient development in the territory, covering building projects, housing and master plans.
MDBA is an architecture, design and urban planning studio established in 2008 in Barcelona. The studio's work covers a wide range, from urban planning, parks, promenades, residential buildings, student residences, single-family homes, home renovations and furniture design. A strong interest in interior design, in residential projects of various ranges, is combined with an attitude to the design of space that always seeks the essence.
Each project is a challenge, in which we interpret the client's needs and seek the maximum performance of the place or of the spaces already formed in their case. We look for the appropriate character of each space, always bearing in mind the materiality, the warmth of the materials, the warmth of the work of the craftsmen that we incorporate in our work, with the result of spaces with "soul".
