Munarq Arquitectos
Munarq is an architecture studio founded by Rafel Munar Riera and Pau Munar Comas, based in Mallorca, Spain. Its practice explores the relationship between architecture and the Mediterranean landscape, drawing on the Balearic Islands’ building traditions and the potential of natural and locally sourced materials.
The studio’s approach is rooted in the climatic, geographical and cultural characteristics of each site, combining traditional construction techniques with contemporary architectural practices. Its projects investigate the use of materials such as marès sandstone, earth, straw, timber and Posidonia oceanica, seeking a dialogue between the built environment and its surroundings. Notable works include the Sa Ràpita and Ca Na Pau houses, and the Son Ferriol Health Centre, projected in collaboration with Laboqueria Arquitectura.
