Gustavo Gili publishes “Del diagrama a las experiencias, hacia una arquitectura de acción” (“From the diagram to the experiences, through action architecture”), an interesting proposal guided by Josep María Montaner that enriches the chores of the architecture in a theoretical-practical way using as tools: diagrams, experiences and actions.

At the present time, we are in a period of deep productive, social and moral principles change. In architecture, beyond the progress of the architectural illustration systems and the transformation of the constructive types, the need of renewing thoroughly the theory and the criticism is increasingly showed.

This book thinks about a theoretical practical refoundation of the architecture from the explicit linkage of three instrumental cores that are tied up with it: the diagrams, the experiences and the actions. Through the exploration of concepts, tools and emblematic case studies, Josep María Montaner dissects, on the one hand, the abstract nature of the architectonics creations that have been designed through diagrams and, on the other hand, the complexity of the lived experiences and the intention of the actions of collectives and creators that look for an active and ethical operation on the reality.

An investigation that brings nearer the architecture and the town planning to the philosophy, the sociology, the anthropology and the geography in order to force it to go away from the limits of its own abstraction and, in short, enter the experience as counterpoint of the reason despotism and the unique look.
