The Masquespacio design studio, after the success of its last project in Viale Bligny, Milan, for the Bun hamburger brand, is working with them again this time for their new restaurant in Turin, Italy.

The project is based on the identity created in the first restaurant and, although this time the place did not have a historical element, it has a large shop window with 3 windows which, as well as providing natural light, offers a direct view of the space from the street.
The Spanish studio Masquespacio takes advantage of the 3 existing windows overlooking the street and gives a different color to each of them, in other words, each color occupies a window on its own, unlike the Milan burger bar, for which they used only 2 colors.

As you enter the premises, the green color, already iconic for Bun, leads directly to the ordering counter, while the pink and blue lead to 2 completely different spaces where customers can sit down to eat.

In the pink space, in addition to a table to share, there is a grandstand that continues the concept of the arches of Milan and allows diners to sit at different heights, while the blue area conveys fun and allows diners to enjoy their burgers in a space that simulates a huge pool where they will feel immersed in water.

Description of project by Masquespacio

Masquespacio designs Bun Turin

After the initial successful collaboration between Bun and Masquespacio for its restaurant in Bligny, Milan, now they present the first Bun restaurant in Turin.

Starting from the already created identity that was implemented in the first Bun restaurant in Milan, for the new opening of the Italian hospitality chain in Turin they again commissioned the Spanish studio led by Ana Hernández and Christophe Penasse. This time although the approach didn’t commence with an historic element from the space, but with the 3 shopping windows that above offering natural light to the space, give a view directly into the interior from the outside.

Hereby, if in the restaurant in Milan 2 colors were used, in Turin taking advantage of the 3 windows a space of 3 colors was designed that each occupy 1 of the windows.

Ana Hernández, creative director of Masquespacio: “The idea to play with 1 color for each window creates a visual effect from the outside that makes the spectator from the exterior walk from 1 visual world into the other, traveling through different experiences in the same space.”

The already iconic green color from Bun is the one that takes you immediately to the order bar, while the pink and blue colors take you to 2 seating spaces that differ completely from each other. In the pink space you can see how next to a sharing table, a tribune that continues with the arc concept is set up to give the diners the possibility to sit at different levels. The blue zone on the other hand adds a touch of fun and gives the visitors the chance to enjoy the delicious Bun burgers in a space that simulates a huge swimming pool that would make them feel like floating in the water.

Last but not least, the space already counts with some of the established brand elements as for the furniture and arcs, next to materials like ceramics and terrazzo. After finalizing this project, Masquespacio already started to work on the new openings in Milan for which they will search to integrate Bun’s identity in new singular spaces.
