Description of the project by SCOB

LANDSCAPE

One of the main ideas of the project SCOB Architecture and Landscape has been getting the landscape integration of new buildings and port marine space in the urban environment of the Paseo de Borbon of Spain and docks and fishermen. The proposal creates a system able to find an architectural solution not only for buildings but also for all landscape elements involved (street furniture, small stores, signage, etc.), establishing a close relationship between them. a unifying approach to all intervention in order to get an image of continuity is sought. The materials and colors used are chosen from the idea of a common language and a willingness to integrate into the environment.

The buildings are covered by a lattice that is specially designed for this project with the name of OO, and providing protection against solar radiation, high winds and salty environment. The soft, rounded shapes provide warmth and lightness to buildings. The lattice design reminds awnings raising fishermen using a net to protect from sunlight during the summer months.

PORT SERVICES BUILDING (The Gallery)

This building houses the offices of management companies operating in the marina, a small gym and multipurpose rooms and halls crew. It is a two-storey building located on a platform above the water, taking advantage of an area that is not suitable for mooring. The structure is covered by a white lattice, like the other building the marina. The lattice has more presence in the south facade, with more solar radiation, and less on the north facade, coinciding with city views.

The design aims to highlight the idea of continuity outward, working with an approach that evokes the inside of a ship. The space distribution strategy is based on the grouping of closed areas that have the most private activities, such as offices and services. The interstitial space is free for transit and public use, seeking a closer relationship and contact with the outside environment.

On the ground floor there is a reception, administrative offices, a gym and wellness area, restrooms, locker rooms, laundry and room crew. On the first floor offices, meeting rooms, a multipurpose room and office area.
