With “Soy una estrella!!!” Pipiolas poke fun at the role of artists in the pop industry. Officially, it is “a satire about what the functioning of the industry turns us into—actresses who are trying to fulfill their dreams. I’m good, I’m brilliant, I’m worthy, but if no one chooses us, then we are nothing.”
“So much talent, I act, sing, and paint, I surpass my teachers, I know my moment is coming,” sing Paula and Adriana, showing how, in this process of artistic creation, none of that is enough. They poke fun in the chorus and beg to be chosen because their faces are beautiful and their talent the most valuable… a talent intrinsic to this young duo that is part of their “work.”
