José María García Zarco, Txema García Ballester y Laura Moreno Albuixech. Balzar Arquitectos

Balzar Arquitectos is an architecture studio founded in 2018 by José María García Zarco, Txema García Ballester, and Laura Moreno Albuixech, based in Valencia, Spain.

The studio brings together the experience of two generations of architects. José María García Zarco (1957), who qualified as an architect from the Valencia School of Architecture in 1983, served as Director General of Architecture and Housing for the Valencian Regional Government between 1995 and 2003 and founded G-Zarco Estudio that same year. Txema García Ballester (1984) and Laura Moreno Albuixech (1985), who graduated from the same school in 2010 and 2011, respectively, founded Dot Partners in 2012. The collaboration between the two practices led to the establishment of Balzar Arquitectos.

The studio's practice encompasses residential architecture, renovation, interior design, and landscape architecture, with projects developed in Spain and internationally. Its work is characterised by careful attention to proportions, materiality, natural light, and construction processes, with a particular interest in the relationship between architecture, tradition, and context.

Among its projects are Los Olivos House in Quesa (2023), Penthouse 1928 in Valencia (2022), and the Expormim Offices in Valencia (2025).

“After years in this profession, we can say that the foundation of our work is the beauty search, starting from the design of the blueprints themselves all the way to the last detail of construction. A beauty that combines within itself the other necessary factors when creating architecture: economy, function, durability, integration with the surroundings, regulations, respect for the environment, etc.

A beauty that provides an important service to society, giving people a more pleasant world to live in and contributing to their happiness.”
