Riba
Toni Riba graduated in architecture from the ETSAB (Barcelona, 1973). He founded his own studio, Toni Riba, in Barcelona (2023). He currently combines his professional activity with collaboration with the MACBA (National Museum of Contemporary Art) in the creation of exhibition spaces and the museum's expansion. Professionally, he collaborates with various architectural firms. He founded and directed vora arquitectura from 2004 to 2022, where he carried out projects and construction alongside Pere Buil.
Toni Riba has developed his work in construction, renovation, landscape, urban design, and the design of ephemeral spaces, in various stairwells and typologies.
Her work has received several awards, including the 2018 2A Award, the 2014 Archmarathon, the 2013 City of Barcelona Award, the 2012 AJAC Award, the 2011 Arquitectura+ Award, and the 2007 Bonaplata Award. She has also been selected for the 2020 Mies van der Rohe Award and several editions of the awards (BEAU), the European Landscape Biennial, and Arquía/Próxima. Her work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale in the Catalan and Spanish pavilions in 2014 and 2016. In 2018, the close-up monographic exhibition "Shared Identities" opened at the Kolectiv gallery in Belgrade.
He was part of the "Aproximaciones" collective, which published the fanzine on urban intervention proposals from 2012 to 2015. He participated in the exhibition "Materia sensible: Jóvenes arquitectos catalanes," which was shown in Lisbon, La Coruña, Berlin, and Barcelona between 2010 and 2012. He curated Barcelona, 2010 (AJAC-Wonderland) and edited its catalogue. He directed the Architecture and Urban Planning section of the alternative digital publication "L'Altraveu" between 2002 and 2004.
