Active since the seventies in the field of conceptual art and the Czech Actionism open minded to the public sphere, Jiří Kovanda currently lives and works in Prague, where he combines his artistic work with teaching. "Dos anillos dorados / Two golden rings", which will run until February 24, 2013 - is his latest project, which, in line with his recent work, introduce everyday objects. Installation is a reflection on the value attached to things. Some, no apparent economic value, exist alongside other highly valued at cost or material, which does not always equate to greater importance, the value attached to objects is, according to the artist, pure convention.
His work and performances have been exhibited in important national and international art centers, as CGAC-Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea in Santiago de Compostela, Centre d'Art Santa Monica in Barcelona, Tate Gallery in London and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
