This weekend, the Madrid Book Fair has started, we bring, from Ediciones Rua, the presentation of his second book, Fisura, an refreshing essay with characters about the possibilities of the residual space of the city.

Fissura / Fisura is the second book published by Ediciones Rua, which after interior Madrid returns three years later with a reflection on architecture and the power of imagination.
Its author, the writer and journalist Ignacio Vleming, presents a text inspired by the experiences of Fernando Abellanas, creator of the design firm Lebrel. The book includes a series of photographs taken by photographer Enrique Escandell and Fernando Abellanas. The design of the volume and the graphic identity of the entire project has been developed by Fetén Studio.
On April 10, the last book by the writer and journalist Ignacio Vleming has been presented in Madrid, Fissure / Fisura. The work has been published by Ediciones Rua and in the act have also participated the author, the editor Asier Rua, the creator Fernando Abellanas (Lebrel), the photographer Enrique Escandell, the designer Sara Bautista (Fetén Studio) and the communicator Víctor Castro.
It has also presented an installation designed by Fernando Abellanas about this publication inspired by his projects.

A book for architects
Far from being an architecture essay to use, the proposal addresses some reflections on this discipline from aesthetics, literature or film, and also the real experience of Fernando Abellanas.
Synopsis
Compelled by an unexplained force, the protagonist of Fissure (Fisura) enters the constructed world as though it were a virgin forest. Throughout the various adventures which this essay describes, Joris imagines suspended hiding places, nuclear bunkers, secret cinemas, underground cities: above all he suggests a way in which one can see the residual spaces of the city, can give meaning to an urban space's empty sites and unused margins. In his unending search for a silent architecture, he manages to recover the emotions we feel when we for the first time turn the corner of a previously-known street and discover a building that may have always been there but which we had never before truly noticed. The moment in which the plan of a city which we had thought we knew perfectly opens out and makes us feel... not surprise, but rather a kind of truly liberating anxiety.

Ignacio Vleming
Ignacio Vleming is the author of the poems Artificial Spring Climate (V Young Poetry Award "Pablo García Baena", La Bella Varsovia, 2012) and Fossil Carton (La Bella Varsovia, 2016), as well as the workbook on art Inspiration instantaneous (Modernito Books, 2013).
He has also translated Italian poems by Michelangelo Buonarroti and Jacopo Sannazaro, included in the Sextinas anthology. Past and present in a poetic way (Hiperión, 2011) and, together with Professor Leonardo Vilei, La Carla girl by Elio Pagliarani (La Bella Varsovia, 2017). Bachelor of Art History and Audiovisual Communication, currently writes about history, architecture and shows in different media.
