"Hasta la Raíz" is a song by Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade, composed and musicalized by Lafourcade and Leonel García, and originally included in Lafourcade’s fifth studio album, which bears the same name.

The song was released on January 6, 2015 for download in digital stores, becoming the album’s first promotional cut. It quickly ranked at the top of the Latin American charts. It is produced by Cachorro López and Natalia with Sony Music.

The theme was written after a period of personal searches of Lafourcade, in which she traveled through different countries of Latin America in search of inspiration, material and roots of her identity. These three years of searching resulted in this important pop culture song.

Natalia Lafourcade focused on what she wanted to say and not on what she wanted to sell or how she would receive criticism. Maybe that’s why, being such an honest record, people will identify more. But she decided to save "To the Root" to talk about herself:

"I wanted to make a song about the origin, about the things that build you and allow you to be who you are. When we finished it, I saw that it was the reflection of who I am now, the one that summarizes what I have been living and what I am ready to live. It is the hymn of my life"

This is why we identify with the song and why we like it so much, because we are beings that enclose fears, love, heartbreak, roots, dreams and the uncertainty of the future.
