Wednesday January 18th at 12.00 h.Ferran Adrià presented "Matador Ñ" at a press conference at La Fábrica (C / Alameda 9, Madrid). Matador Ñ is the result of two years of work in tandem with Ferran Adrià to create a singular magazine that speaks to the past, present, and future of the most important chef of our times. A Spaniard, Adría was selected by the magazine Time as one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
Matador takes a deep look at the connections between Adría and other fields of culture and society—art, music, cinema, design, science, architecture, and health. A magazine that speaks of emotions, of a sense of humor, felicity, and knowledge; with a disc by Peter Gabriel, prepared exclusively for Matador.
Matador is a different magazine in form and substance. Each issue is a generational project that is sorted in alphabetical order. A journey from A to Z for as long as we live through the eyes of artists, creators and intellectuals who, since its inception in 1995, have been filling the pages of a magazine devoted to a strong identity for its uniqueness and brilliance.
The issue "Ñ" shows Adrià relations with other fields of culture and society, its relationship with the arts and sciences through knowledge, emotion and sense of humor.
The inclusion of works by artist Hannah Collins, musician Peter Gabriel, and filmmaker Bigas Lunas along with texts created by scientist David A. Weitz, the philosopher Yves Michaud, chef Gaston Acurio or curator Roger Buergel, among others, allow scrutinizing the relationships of gastronomy to music, film, design, architecture and health.
Is also done a journey with rare photos ranging from 50 to 80 years showing the origins of elBulli, before the arrival of Ferran Adrià and his subsequent conversion to become the best restaurant in the world. The immediate future of Ferran Adrià elBullifoundation passes and the Museum of elBulli. Matador Ñ reveals the details of these projects so personal.
