This is how "Rent Me "was born, the packaging of 8 totally different identities where the consumer could buy an identity, buy the way to be a person that you are not but would like to be. "Rent Me "is a way to rent an identity, a form of seeing fashion as communication and of union with the multidisciplinary world. Factory Rent Me’s philosophy is to join fashion with art, based on the idea that fashion is capable of creating sensations just as art does.
Over time the Factory Rent Me concept has evolved, creating a much more accessible product for the public but without losing this point of duality, of alter egos and especially of the union with the world of art. For this reason their collections have collaborations with artists like Tom Sanford and at the same time Factoria have developed parallel projects such as in the BAC festival, demonstrating the fusion of fashion and art.
The best example of this evolution is their last collection, with the American artist Tom Sanford. Tom Sanford is a New York-based artist whose work is exhibited around the world. His paintings, which range from historical works depicting celebrity assassinations to portraits of gangsta rappers and teen pop tarts to elaborate cosmologies weaved together from Hollywood movies, reflect a deep ambivalence about the American cultural condition. He is recognised for his work in the gallery Leo Koening in NYC.
Making possible the fusion of fashion and art, Sanford shows three of his paintings; Olsen Twins, Dollar Bill and Scheibe World, that narrate his vision of American society. "Los Angeles Caidos" is the name of this new collection, packed with subliminal messages, messages for a lost society that needs to return to the Light. Paintings and designs that talk about economic crisis dates ‘Scheibe world’, art for business like the Damian Hirst piece ‘For the love of God’, losing artistic romanticism or the Olsen Twins as a new religion. A new collection that keeps the spirit of Factory Rent Me more alive than ever.
